Tarragona is located in the northern part of Spain, at the crossroads of the Mediterranean axis and the Ebro Valley, providing it with a strategic communications hub thanks to its road, rail and port network. The congress is hosted in the Tarragona Exhibition and Congress Center, a Palace with centuries of history. The Palace is located in the very centre of Tarragona, a city recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The city, characterized by its openness to the Mediterranean, has a wide range of attractive warm culture, leisure and nature.

It is conveniently located near the national Reus Airport, which offers national and some international flights, and is also accessible from Barcelona's international airport. This makes it easily reachable for attendees traveling from around the world. But, giving the large number of scientifics, naturalists and conservationists that this conference will hosts it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint to travel to Tarragona. This city is well-connected to Barcelona by high-speed train and to other national or international cities by national rail networks.

Tarragona’s trademark dish is cassola de romesco, a casserole made with a rich regional nut sauce, and atendees will could enjoy the seafood paella, as well as arròs negre (rice cooked in squid ink), grilled or fried fish, arrossejat (seafood rice simmered in fish stock), fideus rossejats (sautéed noodles cooked paella-style in fish stock).
