FIET 2024 – Digital Transformation of Education in an Artificial intelligence Age

Home

The International Education and Technology Forum (FIET) is a meeting place where figures of national and international relevance, related to the application of digital technologies in education, analyze the current situation and the perspective of the next five years

In addition, joint proposals are made about its transformative role in a digital context oriented towards center strategies and the digital transformation of educational centers.

General objective: To analyse the impact of digital technologies in the age of Artificial Intelligence on education, in terms of transformation and based on the evidence gathered from the reality of different educational scenarios and educational levels from a local (Catalonia), national (Spanish state), and international perspective.

Background

As a result of the efforts of 81 experts from Catalonia and around the world (16 countries and 64 different institutions) within the field of education, the first International Forum on Education and Technology (FIET) was held in 2014. A total of 653 professionals took part in the event. It was well thought out in 11 lines of work and structured into 4 thematic axes. The experts worked for a year with representatives of all areas of the educational system. A space called FIET Jove (Youth FIET) was developed, in which 22 educational centres participated.

Thanks to this event, all Catalan universities signed a framework collaboration agreement and granted it continuity; it would be organized on a day when the host centre would alternate. During the one-day FIET, a space opened to young researchers, and collaboration with educational centres would be established.

The 2014 edition outlines were restated through the 2021 edition. However, it was conducted entirely online to adapt it to a post-pandemic context. This time, 61 experts (from 18 countries) participated, and 191 attendees joined the public forum.
